Looking forward to a pint of Haymaker on my return.

Philip Mehrtens, who runs the Shaven Crown Hotel in High Street, Shipton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire is looking forward to a pint of Hook Norton’s latest seasonal brew Haymaker – but he has to cycle to Paris first.
Later this month Phil plans to cycle from London to Paris in three days and raise money for Christian Aid.
Phil said: “I’m certainly looking forward to a pint of Haymaker on my return . But I have to complete my challenge first.
“For two decades I have been lucky enough to lead an extremely decadent and hedonistic life, enjoying many things that we have come to take for granted, such as good living, foreign travel, and always being able to drink and eat whatever I want, whenever I want.
“I now want to spread that further by helping to provide some of life’s essentials to the millions of people across the globe that don’t get to enjoy a world where they don’t worry about what’s for dinner?”
On the 22nd July Phil will be taking on the huge challenge of cycling from London to Paris.
This will take place over four days from the 22–26 July. At a distance of 300 miles, that’s 75 miles a day.
“When I took it on I thought it would be a challenge – now that I have been training I think it will be a massive challenge” said Phil.
“I’m overweight, out of condition, ageing and haven’t done anything useful for 20 years. Please try and help make this a worthwhile challenge by helping me raise as much money as possible for those less fortunate than ourselves,” he said
