Hook Norton pubs star in CAMRA’s latest Good Beer Guide.
Hook Norton is the beer of Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, has launched the 37th edition of its annual Good Beer Guide which features 4,500 real ale pubs in Britain.
This year’s Good Beer Guide finds that nationwide the real ale scene is thriving with Hook Norton pubs to the fore in Oxfordshire. Only 70 Oxfordshire pubs can be included in the Good Beer Guide and seven are traditional Hook Norton tenanted pubs and at least a further 13 Oxfordshire listed pubs sell Hook Norton beers.
Hook Norton’s Managing Director James Clarke said: “It is a wonderful accolade for CAMRA members to recognise the hard work put in and the commitment to excellence made by so many licensees who serve Hook Norton beers. “Hook Norton is clearly Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds favourite local brewer and I am confident that more of our pubs would have been listed if more pubs from Oxfordshire were included in the guide.”
The Hook Norton traditional tenanted pubs listed in the Good Beer Guide are: Oxfordshire - Bell Inn, Adderbury; Crown & Tuns, Deddington; Pear Tree, Hook Norton; Peyton Arms, Stoke Lyne, Falcon, Thame; White Swan, Wiggington; Eagle Tavern, Witney Northamptonshire - the Marston Inn, Marston St Lawrence and Star Inn, Sulgrave.
