Butchers Arms part of Balscote village life

The Thompson family – Eileen, Ken and their daughter Kate have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into village life, since moving into the Butchers, Arms in the pretty village of Balscote in Oxfordshire.
The pub has been decorated inside – and is now light, relaxing and an ideal place to enjoy a glass of Hook Norton beer, served straight from the barrel.
And if the sun is shining there can be few better places than the pub’s garden, with its views of the village.

Normally, the pubs sells Hooky Bitter plus one or two seasonal ales from the Hooky’s range.
“Our beer is served straight from the barrel to enhance the real ale experience,” said Ken.
Recently, Eileen, Ken and Kate were hard at work helping raise funds for a new roof for the village’s community hall. A beer festival was held in the pub – and they organised a beer tent at the village fete.

Kate, pictured, said, said in addition to their range of Hook Norton beers, they were serving 10 real ales from seven other craft beer producers.
