New menu at the Marston Inn
Carole and Nigel Davis have introduced a new menu at the Marston Inn in Marston St Lawrence in deeply rural Oxfordshire, not far from Banbury.
And the couple hope they have hit the winning formula – something the villagers have become used to, as Marston St Lawrence is also the home of the boss of Red Bull Racing – whose team were placed first and second at the Santander British Grand Prix held at nearby Silverstone.
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber were Red Bull’s winning double, but Carole and Nigel aren’t looking to rival Brawn to provide a racey menu – instead steak and home-made pizzas are the couple’s formula to get the chequered flag.
The pizzas can be eaten in the bar, the pub’s garden or taken home to be enjoyed with a bottle of Hooky beer.
Much of salad is now grown in the couple’s own garden and the eggs with meals have could have been laid by the three hens, who live in a coop behind the pub.
