The Cask Marque scheme is operated by an independent body called Cask Marque Trust which is a limited company, limited by guarantee, and a non profit making organisation. The company is run by a management committee elected by its members. The members who pay a subscription include representatives from brewers, retailers, trade bodies and consumer groups.

The Society of Independent Brewers was founded in 1980 under the title The Small Independent Brewers Association (SIBA) to represent the interests of the growing numbers of independent brewing companies in the UK.

Our concerns are that the continued above inflation increases in beer duty are destroying this indigenous British industry. Hook Norton Brass Band celebrates its 120th anniversary this year. In 1886 a group of railway workers constructing the Great Western Railway joined together with local villagers in Hook Norton to form the band.
